All right, so I got myself an iPhone, which is pretty cool gadget. Right after getting it, I tried to configure it to do all of the stuff my laptop can do. While I have tried lots of things and gotten most of them to work thanks to the generous number of guides on the internet. There were however one thing, which I could find a guide for: Connecting to VPN at Daimi. Now I finally got my act together and sat down and figured out how to set it up. And to help other people in the same situation, I decided to write this little guide.
The first you need to do, is to get the parameters for the connection.
Direct link - requires login with username and password.
Now is it very straight forward to setup the VPN connection. Go to
Settings > General > Network > VPN and press
Add VPN Configuration...- Select IPSec
- Give it an appropriate name (e.g. Daimi VPN)
- Enter the gateway URL as the Server
- Enter your username as the Account
- Enter the ID as the Group Name
- And finally enter the secret as the - yeah- Secret.
That's it!
Now, save the configuration and try it out.
